Topic: Teachers as the Change Agent: Building Resilience Through Assertive Training
Venue: Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Kuching, Jalan Central Tengah
The resilience of teachers in border areas in facing various challenging student conditions needs to be strengthened with assertiveness skills. So that they can become agents of change for their students. Assertiveness training is included in the behavioral approach that can be applied especially in interpersonal situations, where individuals have difficulty accepting the fact that stating or asserting themselves is a proper or correct action. This training will help people who are unable to express anger or feelings of offense, have difficulty saying "no", feel they have no right to have their own feelings and thoughts. Assertiveness training reduces explosive hostile behavior or reduces passive behavior, starting from the teacher so that they become models for their students. The aspects that are strengthened are how to carry out assertive communication with eye contact, gestures, facial expressions, volume, timing, and listening and responding skills.

Topic: Integrating Sustainable Livelihood Indicators for Socio-Economic Growth and Natural Capital Conservation
Venue: Kampung Assum, Padawan
Climate change presents significant risks to communities whose livelihoods depend on natural resources, such as farmers and fishermen. The programme, "Building Climate Resilience: Thriving in a Changing Environment," is designed to empower these groups by equipping them with knowledge and practical tools to adapt to climate risks and ensure sustainable livelihoods. Through participatory activities such as vulnerability mapping, skill-based workshops, and action plan development, participants will learn strategies like climate-smart agriculture, sustainable fishing practices, and collective disaster preparedness. The programme also emphasizes fostering community collaboration and leveraging local resources to enhance resilience. By the end of the programme, participants will have developed practical skills and a community-driven action plan tailored to address climate challenges while protecting their livelihoods. This initiative aims to build adaptive capacity and inspire long-term resilience among vulnerable communities in the face of a changing climate.

Topic: Community Resilience on Environment - Sustainabile Waste Management
Venue: Kampung Beradek, Kuching
In this program, we will explore the waste management challenges faced by the community at Kampung Beradek, Kuching, due to the lack of proper waste disposal infrastructure, including systems for waste segregation, recycling, and composting. The community's reliance on harmful methods, such as burning and burying waste, leads to the release of toxic pollutants into the air, contamination of soil and water, and long-term environmental damage, as non-organic materials take centuries to decompose. The program will focus on potential solutions through educational outreach on recycling, and community-driven initiatives to encourage composting. By equipping the villagers with the knowledge and tools for responsible waste management, we aim to foster sustainable practices. This initiative will help create a cleaner, healthier environment and ensure a more resilient Kampung Beradek for future generations.
